Fred Perry Job

For those who know me, know most my wardrobe is Fred Perry and Dr Martens. So while shopping on Saturday at Cheshire Oaks, it comes out there's a job opening. I sent my CV in straight away and got an interview for Monday. Needless to say I GOT THE JOB! I wore my Grey jumper dress with the Agyness Deyn Cherry Red DM's that matched the stripes on the dress. I's a bit of a drive but I am so excited to be working for a brand I am passionate about!

I will do some proper outfit posts soon but for now I have a few 'Selfies' wearing various Fred Perry tops and a pic of the DM's

I've been quiet on the blog lately and I do apologise I've had a busy summer!

My summer project for uni was based on the word 'Bloom' I admit I was slightly rushed for this project and will most likely reshoot but my model was lovely to work with and we had a fun day in the studio.

Layla Sailor

For my course I had to create a creative CV, which was then to be judged by 3 industry guests in the hopes of winning an internship. I was lucky enough to win a place with Layla Sailor, a freelance photographer based in Manchester who specialises in film making, prop-making and art direction. After hearing her talk about her work I was inspired and ecstatic that I was going to be able to assist her.

Layla often collaborates with Lisa Stannard, who she met while studying and working in Manchester. Their collaborative work is exciting with Stannards' collections coming to life through Sailors' work. She also collaborates with jewellery designer wonderhaus, which again is based in Manchester, specialising in acrylic and plastic jewellery. I am in love with their Manchester skyline clear cuff!

Layla works a lot with colour, which started in her university days. Her work often has a Scandinavian feel to it, which she plays upon and adapts in different ways. Her style of work is different to y ow and I'm excited to see her processes and see how I can adapt what I learn to my own work.

You can view more work at http://www.laylasailor.com/

All shook up

So again I have been pretty poor with posting recently I would say it's due to illness and my uni project I handed in on tuesday but still they're not good enough excuses! So here is my final pictures from my uni project. This was a project based on food, art and fashion. The final piece came from different food experiences and visiting several galleries both in Manchester and London. I wanted to do something clean and sleek and chose to style mine so that it fitted in with AnOther magazine's editorials. Our accessories for this still life shoot had to be based on either s/s13 or a/w13 I chose s/s13 and based it on the pastel trend that is current.

Margaret Turner

I am not one for wearing lots of jewellery, I usually have some earrings in and that is it for me, but for my 18th birthday I got my first piece of Margaret Turner. Now my mum has been wearing Margaret's stuff for as long as I can remember, it's a fond memory when my dad would surprise her with a necklace, a pair of earrings or a ring for special occasions. When I unwrapped my very own bangle I was in love and it hasn't left my wrist for 2 years! My parents had it engraved with '18' in Roman numerals which made it all the more special.

Margaret's silver jewellery has always fascinated me as it has a molten finish to it, making it much more unique and interesting than your average piece of silver.

This description from Margaret's website is an  accurate portrayal of her work, her pieces are works of art.

I was fortunate enough to get a another bangle and a ring for christmas which again they have not left my hands!

Margaret is definitely my favourite Jeweller and I look forward to collect her pieces over the next couple of years, the next thing to add to my collection will a necklace!

Good Tidings We Bring

Hello and Happy New Year to you all!. Now I've not been keeping up to date with my blogging and for that I'll give myself a slap on the wrists. I've had a very lovely christmas and new year and hope you lot did too!

I spent the 18th till the 24th Dec in NYC (my 2nd visit this year) with my mum and sister. While there we shopped, went ice skating in Central Park, saw Leonard Cohen (incredible man), saw the rockets 85th Christmas show and my sister and I did the Sex and The City tour which I can not recommend enough!

Now despite getting back 8am Christmas Day I haven't really had time to rest, with having to work (for having Xmas eve off I had to see my soul and work rubbish shifts) and then having family round I feel time has just escaped me.

Now in the next couple of days I am hoping to get a post out on my favourite jewellery designer and on   a boutique mug/coaster company that I help with their social media.
